I thought it would be fun to do a post on my every day makeup products. Personally, I love watching these types of videos on Youtube because I always discover a new product that I want to try. These products are my go to that work for me! All of these are going to be listed in the order in which I apply them on the face.
Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer $62
This primer is one beautiful product! It comes with an expensive price tag but a very small amount goes a long way so I know I will have it for a long time. Tatcha supplies a mini scooper which is wonderful because it keeps the primer sanitary and it lets you know how much you need. My favourite part is when I warm up the primer on the back of my hand because it spreads so well on the skin. The Silk Canvas really does give a beautiful and even base for makeup to sit on.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter #2 $50
The classic glow from within! I’ve talked about the Flawless Filter before because it’s just that wonderful. I like to disperse a small amount of this on the back of my hand with the other products in the photo above and mix them together for my perfect cocktail! It gives my skin that glossy look that I love so much! This can also be applied on top of the foundation and it is equally beautiful.
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti Pollution Sunshine Drops $44
This is kind of a big deal because it is my very first Drunk Elephant product and it’s very new to my routine. I don’t want to say that I love it because that’s very premature of me but I do like it. Personally I think this is a really unique product! D-Bronzi Sunshine Drops is a serum that protects the skin from all the hard environmental elements and it’s filled with lots of goodies like virgin Marula, Currant Seed oil and fatty acids. It also gives your skin a really beautiful and natural tan which is perfect for people who avoid the sun like the plague. To use this it is recommended to mix with an oil, moisturizer or foundation and voila, apply to the face! One pump is enough for my face but sometimes I get a little too excited to apply this.
Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation $69
True Skin Serum is the only foundation I have been wearing since I purchased it in July. Foundation is the hardest thing for me because my skin hates pretty much all foundation. This is a very soothing and hydrating foundation that has a natural finish. I like to use one pump for the whole face and mostly concentrate it on areas that need help!
Nude By Nature Liquid Foundation Brush
This brush (as well as all the brushes in this post) is from a brush set that I recently purchased that I am still testing out. It is a traditional “painting” brush. I find this brush works best for me when I pounce it on the skin versus painting it on. To be frank, I don’t normally use this style of foundation brushes but I am trying to do things out of my comfort zone.
Hourglass Illume Sheer Colour Trio $75
Oh goodness I love this cream palette so much! It is so easy and quick, you really don’t have to be a makeup artist to use this. The quality is wonderful and it blends like a dream. I use all three parts (bronzer, blush and highlighter) but sometimes I will change up the blush just because change is good!
Kevyn Aucoin Medium Sculpting Contour Powder $53
This was given to me as a gift about 4 or 5 years ago and it’s the only contour powder that I have consistently used. What I enjoy about this is the cool toned colour that never goes grey on my skin. It blends really easy and a small amount is needed to achieve a sculpted face. The only downside is I am unsure whether or not Kevyn Aucoin is cruelty free and because it’s such an expensive gift, I have held on to it.
Nude By Nature Buffing Brush
I am such a big fan of this brush! In my humble opinion it is the perfect size for blending out any contour or cream products. I think I am going to need one more, I really enjoy using it!
Hourglass Radiant Bronze Light Ambient Lighting Bronzer $63
Radiant Bronze Light is one of the most beautiful bronzers I have ever used. It contains very fine shimmers so it gives the skin a gorgeous bronze and a glow. This bronzer has lasted me for a couple of years and I haven’t hit pan yet. I can’t say enough good things about this or Hourglass as a brand, I’m simply in love.
Nude By Nature Finishing Brush
So far so good! I’m enjoying this fluffy and soft brush. It is meant for a finishing powder but I rarely use powder and it works really well for an overall bronze on the face!
Pixi Watermelon Veil Multibalm $8
Another one of those quick, no fuss products! This balm can be used all over the face which is wonderful if you are always in a rush! It is easy to blend, and a thin consistency that is perfect for layering with other products. The colour is this really beautiful pink flush. When it sets in the skin it looks so natural like you are naturally rosy. You can’t really beat the price either!
Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter $46
Hands down one of my favourite Becca highlighters. Honestly, highlighters in general! It doesn’t matter how many highlighters I try or buy, somehow I always go back to Moonstone. It is a beautiful white gold shade that gives the most ethereal highlight. If you want to try Becca highlighters I strongly recommend Moonstone, it is effortless!
Nude By Nature Highlight Brush
At first glance, I thought this was a big fluffy brush for the eyes, but no it is designed for a highlighter. I like to use this brush using circular motion to really buff in the glow. What I like most about it is that it’s soft and it has a lot of movement to it.
Smashbox Dark Brown Brow Tech To Go $32
This is a double ended angled brow pencil that has a clear brow gel on one end and the pencil on the other. When I first got this I really loved it but now, I think it is just okay. I use this on days where I feel like my eyebrows need more colour or filling in. I am really interested in the Milk Kush Brow Gel, if you have used it please let me know how you like it!
Nude By Nature Lash & Brow Spoolie Brush
Mainly I use this to groom my hairy brows! My favourite brow trick is just a simple spoolie and a bar of soap to hold them in. On most days I am satisfied with just this!
Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara $34 Mini $17
A while ago when I made an order on Sephora, I received this mini sized mascara. I’m not impressed with most mascaras because I think they’re too heavy or too wet and weigh my lashes down. My natural lashes are long but they don’t have much curl to them so I always opt for waterproof because it keeps the curl I create and it doesn’t give me racoon eyes. Now the Caution mascara is not waterproof so it must be magic because it holds my curl and keeps me raccoon eyes free. A thin coat is all you need of this and it will amp up the lashes!
